TrafficGuard normally applies its tracking template directly at the account level in Google Ads. This is Google's standard method for passing click data to third-party platforms.
However, if you use Search Ads 360 (SA360), SA360 manages and controls the account-level tracking template in Google Ads via its own sync process. This means you cannot apply the TrafficGuard tracking template directly in Google Ads — SA360 would overwrite it.
Instead, you need to add the TrafficGuard tracking template in SA360, and SA360 will then sync it to Google Ads automatically.
Before you begin
You need your TrafficGuard Property ID to build the tracking template URL. Your Property ID is a unique identifier in the format tg-000XXX-00X.
ℹ️ Where to find your Property ID
Go to Properties → your property → Settings and copy the Property ID.
If you haven't created a property yet, you'll need to do that first. See how to create a property.
Step 1: Build your TrafficGuard tracking template URL
Start with the base TrafficGuard tracking template below. You need to replace the placeholder Property ID (tg-00XXX-00X) with your own Property ID before using it.
https://track.trafficguard.ai/google-ads/v1/click/?property_id=tg-00XXX-00X&source_id={network}&creative_id={creative}&campaign_id={campaignid}&creative_set_id={adgroupid}&placement_id={placement}&keyword={keyword}&session_id={gclid}&feeditemid={feeditemid}&targetid={targetid}&loc_interest_ms={loc_interest_ms}&loc_physical_ms={loc_physical_ms}&matchtype={matchtype}&device={device}&devicemodel={devicemodel}&ifmobile={ifmobile:1}&ifnotmobile={ifnotmobile:1}&ifsearch={ifsearch:1}&ifcontent={ifcontent:1}&target={target}¶m1={param1}¶m2={param2}&random={random}&adposition={adposition}&destination_url={lpurl}
Replace tg-00XXX-00X in the template URL with your copied Property ID.
Example: If your Property ID is tg-000123-004, your tracking template URL will begin: https://track.trafficguard.ai/google-ads/v1/click/?property_id=tg-000123-004&...
Once updated, copy the entire URL — you'll need it in the next step.
Step 2: Add the tracking template in SA360
In SA360, navigate to the account level for the Google Ads account you want to configure.
Select the correct Agency, Advertiser, and Account (domain).
Click the Settings icon below the account name.
Paste your completed TrafficGuard tracking template URL into the URL template field.
Check whether Auto-tagging is enabled on your Google Ads account:
Auto-tagging enabled: Click Save — no further changes needed.
Auto-tagging disabled: Before saving, paste the following into the Final URL Suffix field:
gclid={gclid}— then click Save.
SA360 will sync the tracking template to your Google Ads account automatically.
ℹ️ Why you may see a "Final URL mismatch" in Google Ads
If you run a Google Ads URL test after setup, you may see a Final URL mismatch warning. This is expected and does not indicate an error.
SA360 uses a parallel tracking method — Google sends the user directly to your landing page, while simultaneously sending the click to SA360. SA360 then forwards that click to TrafficGuard for analysis. Because TrafficGuard receives a parallel click rather than redirecting the user, the URLs will not match in Google's test tool.
The click flow works as follows: Google → User lands on your page (simultaneously) → Google → SA360 → TrafficGuard
