How do I implement the Conversion Snippet on GTM?

TrafficGuard is able to track conversions on your website. The reason why this is useful is because we match the conversion to the click on your ad and it works as an additional data point to validate IPs.

To implement TrafficGuard's conversion snippet in GTM you will need to do the following steps -

  1. Login to your Google Tag Manager
  2. Click on 'Tags' on the left
  3. Name the conversion snippet
  4. In Tag Configuration choose "Custom HTML Tag"
  5. Paste the below TrafficGuard's conversion snippet into the Custom HTML text area
    1. Replace {YOUR_GOAL_ID} macro with your conversion name. For consistency, you can use the same name as your Google Adwords conversion.
    2. Replace {YOUR_USER_ID} macro with a user identifier (if you have one). If you don't have a user ID, you can leave it as it is.Make sure you add a user ID if you have one.

TrafficGuard's Conversion Snippet -

<script>
var goalParams = {
is_conversion: 1,
goal_id: "{YOUR_GOAL_ID}",
user_id: "{YOUR_USER_ID}",
};
dataTrafficGuard.push(['event', 'goal', goalParams]);
</script>

6.  Select the corresponding trigger for the tag you have just created.

For example 'Your Company Contact Form' trigger, in this example the new tag you have created will generate a conversion every time someones fills out the contact form.

7.  Save your trigger and Save the Tag

Please also make sure that the conversion snippet is sequenced to fire after the TrafficGuard JS Tag.

The snippet works in combination with the JS Tag. Please make sure you have implemented TrafficGuard's JS Tag on all pages of your website.
