Device Report allows you to discover how many device types, platforms and platform version are associated with fraudulent activity.

Overview

Device report lets you see the relationship between device information and your invalid, valid and filtered traffic. With this report, you can filter by different data dimensions or group by device types, platforms and platform versions which can be used to compare in the visualisation.

Key

1. Filters

Filters give the ability to drill down and reveal additional levels of detail of your data. It is a great way to gain a deep understanding of the device-specific distribution of your traffic. You can filter on multiple values for all filtering options which are:

  • Property

  • Campaign

  • Partner

  • Sub-partner

  • Site ID

  • Country

  • Transaction status reason

  • Device Types

  • Device Platforms

  • Device Platform Versions

πŸ’‘ Tip
Applied filters persist across all reports and help you navigate easily through your activity.

2. Types of Transaction Status Tab

Selecting one of these tabs will show data related to each tab:

  • Invalid tab: Displays fraudulent or invalid activity

  • Filtered tab: Displays activity that is dictated by the campaign's unique validation rules

  • Success tab: Displays valid activity

3. Time Zones and Date Time Ranges

By default, the timezone is set to UTC and the range is set to the last 7 days. You can choose your preferred time zone and date-time range.

4. Data Field for Plotting

The Device report shows different dimensions for impressions, clicks, events, installs and conversions of each location (Note: select wanted device type in the filtering option). You can compare them by choosing two data fields in the drop-down which includes:

  • Total transaction

  • Invalid transaction

  • Filtered transaction

  • Successful transaction

  • Percentage of invalid transactions

  • Percentage of filtered transactions

  • Percentage of Successful transactions

The selection of two data fields will automatically plot a corresponding chart for you.

5. Plotting Area

When the filters, timezone and other required fields are selected, the plotting area is updated to reflect the chosen data. If no data is present, then the plotting area will show a flat chart.

6. Group By

Grouping similar data together is an alternative way to uncover a pattern of which device information associated with your invalid traffic. You can group by:

  • Platform version: The version of an operating system such as iOS 13.1.2 or Andriod 9.0 Pie

  • Device type: The type of a device such as Desktop, Smartphone or Tablet

  • Platform: Platform is an operating system of a device such as iOS and Andriod

The result of the group-by method will appear in the data table below. For example, group by Platform version will return the list of all device versions and relevant data.

7. Data Table

Data Table shows the volumes of impressions, clicks, installs, events and conversions. You can scroll to the right to see every available column. By default, each transaction category shows:

  • Total transaction

  • Percentage of total transaction

  • Invalid transaction

  • Percentage of invalid transactions

In addition to the default columns, you can choose to include or exclude any column by clicking on the three vertical dot icon located on the top right-hand side of the data table (9).

πŸ’‘ Tip
Clicking a line item in the data table will add the value in the report's filter. You can then navigate to a different report, to analyse the data for the selected filter. This filter persists across reports.

8. Plot Rows

When using group by method, you may want to see more granular data on a chart (e.g. by Device type). This can be achieved by selecting one or multiple data rows (up to five rows) and then clicking on 'Plot Rows' button. The plotting area will be updated accordingly.
