Account settings

Welcome to your TrafficGuard Account Settings. This page is your central hub for managing your website protection, connecting your advertising accounts, and monitoring TG site tag health.

Website settings

This section manages the "Asset" you are protecting. We refer to this as your Website to keep things simple.

  • Website: This is pre-populated from your onboarding. You can edit this field if your primary protected domain changes.

  • TraffiGuard ID: This is your unique TrafficGuard ID. You will need to copy this ID when setting up your Site tag manually.

  • Industry category: Use the dropdown menu to select or update your industry. This helps our detection engine calibrate against industry-specific traffic patterns.

Ad account connections

To protect your ad spend, TrafficGuard needs to talk to Google Ads. This section manages that handshake.

Connection statuses

  • Not connected: You will see a "Connect Google Ads" button. Clicking this begins the authorization flow.

  • Setup incomplete: If you exited the setup flow early (e.g., you didn't finish the tracking template update), you will see this status. Click Continue setup to pick up right where you left off.

  • Connected: Your account is connected and active. You will see your Google Ads ID, the "Last sync" timestamp, and options to Unlink.

Protection modes

Once connected, you can toggle between two modes for each account:

  • Detection mode: We monitor your traffic and report on invalid hits, but we do not block them in real-time.

  • Prevention mode: We actively block invalid bots and clicks before they waste your budget.

⚠️Switching from 30-day free detection trial

If you are currently in a trial, switching from Detection to Prevention mode will end the trial period and trigger your paid subscription.

TrafficGuard site tag

The TG site tag is a small piece of code that helps us see deeper into your website traffic.

ℹ️ Is the TG site tag required?

No, the TG Site Tag is not strictly required for TrafficGuard to function. Even without it, we can still protect your Google Ads via our direct integration. However, installing the tag provides significantly better data accuracy and allows us to see what happens after the click, helping us catch more sophisticated bots.

Understanding your tag status

Status

What it means

Recording hits

(Active) Everything is working perfectly. We've seen data in the last 7 days.

Unverified

(Inactive) We have never received data. Please check your installation.

Tag inactive

(Inactive) We haven't seen data in over 30 days. Your reporting is currently paused.

No recent hits

(Warning) We used to see data, but it stopped. This often happens after site structure changes.

Installation guide

If you choose to install the tag, click Show guide to see step-by-step instructions. We offer multiple installation methods (Manual Code, Google Tag Manager, etc.) with easy "Copy" buttons for the code snippets.
