Why TrafficGuard creates a Meta Custom Audience
When you connect Meta accounts, the platform automatically creates a Meta Custom Audience for each account. This audience is used to collect users identified as invalid so they can be automatically excluded from campaigns when Prevention is active.
This process is fully automated and requires only a one-time acceptance of Meta’s Custom Audience Terms of Service and approval of the TrafficGuard custom event created during connection.
What the TrafficGuard Meta Custom Audience does
The TrafficGuard Meta Custom Audience:
Automatically populates users identified as invalid by TrafficGuard detection systems
Updates continuously as new invalid users are detected
Enables automatic campaign exclusions when Prevention is turned on
Excludes users for 14 days across the whole account
Meta requires advertisers to accept Custom Audience Terms of Service before any audience can be created or populated via an integration.
How the setup works
Connect your Meta Ads account to TrafficGuard
Accept Meta Custom Audience Terms of Service (one-time step)
TrafficGuard automatically creates the Invalid Audience
Detected invalid users are added continuously
When Prevention is enabled, the audience is attached to all relevant ad sets within the account
Important notes
The audience is managed automatically by TrafficGuard — manual updates are not required
Audience population begins once the Terms of Service are accepted
Exclusions take effect only when the Meta account is placed into Prevention mode
